  3. New Book out today, perfect for that little T-Wrecks in your life! Check out author Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen’s blog here for a signed book giveaway and find out why all these kids are dressed as dinosaurs.

  5. Nilson has never looked so good
Not sure what I'm waving my hand around for. Think the remote wasn't working.
Got some awesome bookmarks from the schools who participated in the voting.
That chair was too intimidating to sit in. Thankfully Jesse/Nilson was there to steal the show.
The Museum was lit up like a castle made of Dippin-dots

Epic weekend here in Fuzzytown! The Please Touch Museum had its Annual Storybook Ball and No Fits Nilson! was honored with two awards, a special honor from the jury and the best one, KIDS CHOICE AWARD!

In addition to 1000’s of people dressed as their favorite book characters I got to meet the other award winners. The amazingly talented Lizi Boyd and equally brilliant Jesse Klausmeier.

Plus I got to see Ame Dyckman (as Peter Pan with Wendy and Captain Hook in tow!) Adam Lehrhaupt,(In a tux) Leeza Hernandez (who I’ve only met in costume) and Grammy Nominated singer/songwriter Jonathan Sprout.

Huge thanks to the Please Touch Museum, Heather Boyd, Hallee and Ashley, the jury, and most of all… the KIDS who voted for Nilson!

  6. New Piece for Cottage Life Magazine in Canada. About the rise in Boomers exercising the whole time they are on vacation.

  7. Just got back from a visit with the amazing students at Forest, Maple East, Dodge and Country Parkway Elementary Schools in Buffalo.

I was blown away by all the great art and writing the students did. The teachers and librarians did an amazing job prepping the kids about Nilson and Bernard and even the background inspiration for my books.

There were many surprises, including, a book with ideas for Grumpy Giles,  zucchini bread, homemade beer! and best of all kindergartners reciting poems from one of my favorite books as a kid “Father Foxes Pennyrhymes” (illustrated by the talented Wendy Watson and written by her sister Clyde)

My only regret is not getting out to see Niagara Falls but I hope that there will be a next time. Huge thanks to Principal Keith Wing for organizing and for Gayle Kerman, Michele, Joanne and Melissa for the goodies and rides and food!

OH! And one more thing. I visited a really cool childrens book store there in a charming house from the 1800’s. If you are ever in Buffalo check out Monkey See, Monkey Do! and tell them I sent you!

  8. Supreme Editor Meredith Harte at Sterling.

Honored to be part of this new Margaret Wise Brown book that comes out next week.

She wrote a little book called Goodnight Moon and if you were alive this century you read it or it was read to you.

Goodnight Songs features a who’s who of great kids book artist’s each illustrating one spread. People like Dan Yaccarino, Sean Qualls, Sophie Blackall, Christopher Silas Neal and Renata Liwska.

If you are in Brooklyn March 15th Sat at Book Court @ 4pm there will be a kick off party that many of these artists will be there signing books.

  9. Recent spread I did for Teaching Tolerance Magazine about a pair of male penguins who adopt and raise a baby penguin from birth. Below is the original sketch with the type dropped in. They wanted more shine for the penguins so we pushed the zookeeper to the side a bit.

  10. Do you like corny jokes? Can’t commit to one of the crap sets of Valentines at your local drugstore?

    Print these for free!

    A little love from Fuzzytown!
